Message from the President about this Years Women In History Event.

What a great Women in History Event, March 13, 2009. If you attended? I think you would agree with me. . If you missed it? I am sorry you weren’t there and we missed you. I hope to see you there next year.  As you may know we honored Lavern Norris Gaynor and Myra Daniels.  It was a different setting than years previous, with Lavern, Myra and Emcee, Lois Thome all sitting in a “living room” set up on the stage. It was a lot more personable and friendly, which allowed for the some really great conversation between the women. The stories that Lavern and Myra told about their families were just great!  So was some of the advice that was given as well.

We had about 140 women and men in attendance which included local dignitaries, Commissioner Donna Fiala, Commissioner Fred Coyle, and Naples City Councilwoman, Theresa Heitzman.  In attendance as well, were Past Women In History Honorees; Wilma Boyd, Mary Ellen Hawkins, Mary Watkins, Deborah Horvath, Lois Thome, Tammie Nemecek, Susan McManus, Karen Rollins, Dr. Lois Bolin, and Colleen Kvetko. 

Thank you to Carrie Kerskie, Marcone Investigations, and Jenny Craig, Insite Strategist, who co chaired this event with me, Toby Buerger, TIB Bank.  I would also like to thank all the ABWA Neapolitan Chapter Women who came out the day of to help put the room together and Nina Disessa Christensen, Hilton Naples, for being Coordinator of Volunteers. With out all of you, we wouldn’t have had such a great event!
